Sensing City, Mapping Space
Project type
Exhibition
Date
7 - 8 June 2025
Location
Glasgow, Scotland
As part of this years Architecture Fringe festival, Frank exhibited as part of an exhibition with the Mackintosh School of Architecture (The Glasgow School of Art) from June 7th - 8th 2025 at Woodlands Community in Kelvinbridge, Glasgow.
The exhibition asked, what is a space, and how do we map them? The seemingly simple question retains its complexity and contradiction through years of architectural and design pedagogy. Drawing from two cross-school postgraduate electives hosted at the Mackintosh School of Architecture (The Glasgow School of Art), this exhibition explored the intersection of sensory experience and urban mapping, inviting viewers to reconsider how we perceive and navigate our civic environments.
In Sense Space, the design experiments test our comprehension of architectural and sculptural space beyond sound and sight. Drawing inspiration from thinkers and practitioners, it seeks to engage with all five senses to deepen our connection to the spaces we inhabit. In this show, Frank exhibited a number of sense experiments, such as smell, touch, sound and sight.
